James has served on the Greater Birmingham Area Homebuilders board of directors as well as the Southern Living Builder Program board of directors. He also has been awarded the "Master Builder" designation by the Birmingham Association of Home Builders. Additionally James is the president of Historical Home Designs, a home design company that specializes in replicating exteriors of homes built in the 1700 & 1800's and matching them with interiors that reflect the way Americans live today.
